Midland, Texas Offers “Warming Stations” To Combat Dropping Temperatures
Clearly the big headline this week is the impending inclement weather that is fast approaching Midland and Odessa, Texas. While most of us will be safe from the elements inside our homes, concern regarding the homeless comes to mind and what exactly they will do once the inevitable cold reaches us.
Both Midland and Odessa have established "warming stations" throughout the city where people can go to escape unforgiving weather conditions. These dedicated areas will be open to the public and offer a safe haven to essentially ride out the storm.
Midland Warming Stations
The Midland warming stations will take place at multiple places throughout the city which include:
- MLK Jr. Community Center 2300 Butternut Lane
- Breaking Bread Kitchen 410 E. Florida Ave.
- Salvation Army of Midland, 600 E. Wall St.
- Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry, 1401 Orchard Lane

Odessa Warming Station
The city of Odessa is also providing a dedicated overnight "warming station" with an intake of 5 PM to 9 PM and will provide meals, blankets, and jackets for those in need.
