Midland-Odessa’s Lowrider Culture Shines A Light On Community Pride
When people tend to think of Midland-Odessa and the Permian Basin, they typically think of oilfields and tumbleweeds. However, as residents, we are aware that the region is much more than just that. We have a deeply rooted community of locals who are good people and law-abiding citizens. People who work hard and are proud of their community. Granted, there are a few bad apples in the bunch, but for the most part, this region is filled with good people.

Midland-Odessa Lowrider Community Shines Bright
One such community who are proud of their roots and the 4-3-2 culture is the local lowrider community. In Midland-Odessa, it is more than just about cars. This is about a lifestyle and art form, sometimes passed down from generation to generation. Family, tradition, and identity are all important elements in the cultural pride that surrounds this community.
Lowriders Against Bullying
One group of local lowriding enthusiasts is giving back to the community by combating bullying. This year, the group will hold the 6th annual Lowriders Against Bullying campaign. An event that will include a car show, a concert, food, games, and support for anti-bullying.
Founded by the President of the Brown Creations Car Club, Al Lara has dedicated the past several years to this event, which seems to grow in popularity with every passing year. This is more than about lowriders and classic vehicles; this is about community connection.
