Midland-Odessa Answers! Which Intersections Do You See The Worst Driving?
Driving in West Texas, quite honestly could be a reality show. Set up a camera on Highway 191, I-20, 42nd street in Odessa, the loop in Midland, literally almost anywhere, and just enjoy the show! Why, you ask? Because it is crazy! Anyone who has driven on the streets of Midland or Odessa may be darn near traumatized on any given day.
We've got some crazy drivers. If you've ever shouted to yourself in your ride, 'where did you get your driver's license, a Cracker Jack box?!' You have probably driven in West Texas.
Just the other day I was headed into Midland from the B93 studios. I was at the light on the loop off of 191, the light was red so I was sitting there listening to the radio, minding my own business, fully aware that on my side the light was about to turn green. And it does. Right about that time a truck flew through the RED light! Fortunately or maybe unfortunately depending on how you look at it, it didn't phase me, it didn't surprise me. I mean aren't we all used to it by now? Tbh, I typically pause at all lights anyway for this very reason.
It is not the first or last time anyone who drives will encounter such behavior. So out of curiosity, I asked the question on the B93 Facebook,
At which West Texas interstates do you see the worst driving (running red lights, speeding, etc.)?
And Midland/Odessa drivers answered. Here are some of the responses:
