Bell County Parents Alerted Over Local LGBTQ Pamphlet Distribution
Recently, Bell County parents received envelopes in the mail from the Texas Gender Association. I know this because I received one as well. At first, I was a little confused because, to my knowledge, I don't have anyone in my family who is transgender. However, after reading through the materials, I realized it was the Texas Trans and LGBT Student Resource Guide.

What We Know About the Trans & LGBTQ Pamphlets Reaching Bell County Homes
The pamphlet is intended for children who identify as transgender, nonbinary, or who may be questioning their gender identity, particularly if they feel their family, school, or community is not supportive. The guide provides information on what children can do if their parents do not support their gender identity, including information about emancipation. It also discusses hormones, gender-affirming care, and whether minors can travel out of state to receive that care. The organization has also recently launched its Trans Texas Takeover Fall Tour, visiting communities across Texas to offer free educational sessions, Q&A discussions, and creative workshops focused on Texas laws and how they affect transgender Texans.
How Are Bell County Parents Reacting To The Pamplets?
Some parents have expressed outrage, particularly after learning that the guide discusses the possibility of a child becoming legally emancipated from their family. Other parents, however, are using the information as an opportunity to become more understanding and supportive of a child who may or may not identify as transgender.
Will The Tour Come To Bell County?
So far, there has been no information indicating that the tour will make its way to Bell County. However, I believe keeping an eye on materials like this can give parents an idea of what may be coming next.
