While it's 2024 and everyone is still going strong with their resolutions, or completely dumped them, there's one throwback that we should bring back so we can have a great future. No, I'm not talking about crystal balls or updated fortune cookies, they come in different flavors, but one game 90's and early 2000's kids remember that has been long forgotten. M.A.S.H.!

Everyone that passed paper notes in grade school, before texting, remembers pulling out a sheet of notebook paper and playing the game M.A.S.H. to determine their friends future. If you don't know the game well then sorry you didn't have any friends but I'm here now to teach many of you, and remind the rest.

To play the game you need a piece of notebook paper, or printer paper, then you write the letters M.A.S.H. at the top and that represents where you will live when you grow up. M is for mansion, A is for attic or alley, S is for shack or swamp, and H is house (you can usually swap out the home for anything that starts with that letter.

Next you do kids and the number of kids that person will have, who they will marry, what kind of car they will have, job, pets, and how much money they will have in their bank account. You write all those categories in a square formation and then this is where the magic really begins. In the middle of the paper is where you start a spiral and keep drawing the spiral until your friend tells you to stop. Then you count the lines from one end of the spiral to the other end and write the number next to the spiral, in case you forget from all the laughter.

You will start with the letter M and count the different things in a clockwise formation, we got the number 6, so on every 6th item we fell on that item was eliminated. You do this all around the paper until you have one thing in each category and then you read your friend your fortune. For instance ours reads we will live in a shack and have 0 children but will marry our friend Kimmy but we drive a dumpster to work everyday as a line cook to feed our pet cow and will only have $1,000 in our bank account.

Did you remember this fun bit of nostalgia or was this your first time hearing about it? What other ways did you have fun in grade school? We want to know!
