Surprising Items You Can’t Send Through Texas Mail
The holiday season is upon us! Thanksgiving is right around the corner but Christmas has been thought of for months. Everyone is or has completed their Christmas shopping and wants their relatives to get their gifts for the holiday.
I don't have to remind everyone how big Texas is but even if you have family in the Lone Star State, it could still mean they are 10 hours away. Even though most of us would love to drive to every part of Texas to drop off family gifts, that would take too much PTO time. What's the next best thing? Shipping gifts through the mail to our loved ones.
For the longest time, I assumed that as long as I had the proper postage on a package, I could ship whatever I wanted through the mail. However, that's not the case. In most of the country, the United States Postal Service has restrictions on what items you can mail. While some items it's obvious to see why they are prohibited others are not so obvious. The United States Postal Service has many restrictions in place to protect its employees, customers, and transportation networks. They pride themselves on keeping everyone safe and secure within the company.
Just in case anyone else was like me and assumed the 20 stamps you put on a package gave you immunity, I wanted to create a list to help them out. While some on the list aren't necessarily banned they do have some restrictions. Here is a list of items prohibited from being mailed in Texas.
