Gone! Texas Water Park Goes From Abandoned to Cleared Out!

Water Wonderland Water Park was the West Texas water park for many years. But for about the last 20 years, it was abandoned and forgotten. The land pretty much stood as time and weeds took over. The park has gone from abandoned, to demolished and cleared out in the past year! The demolition happened in 2022 and the land today looks pretty much cleared out! Any traces of a water park are all but gone now.

According to this article from Newswest 9...

Tank Logic, which is adjacent to the former Water Wonderland land purchased the land and has cleared the area out.

Water Wonderland opened up back in 1980 in Odessa, Texas. It remained Water Wonderland until new owners purchased it. Its name was changed to Hero's Waterworld. Hero's eventually closed its doors in the early 2000s and since then has been pretty much abandoned.

You could drive by about 1 year ago and see the remnants of a water park, but that is no longer the case. The land is ready for its next chapter and its days of being a water park are now just a West Texas memory!
