Do You Pile Dishes Up At Restaurants To Help The Waiter or Waitress?

I bet if we asked waiters and waitresses whether they want us to PILE up dishes when we are done eating, we would probably be surprised by the answer? Do you attempt to do this thinking you are helping the situation? I'm not going to lie, I've been known to pile up dishes thinking, let me help out. But, am I really helping out? Is making a TOWER of dishes actually making things worse? LOL
My intentions are good, but i'm curious what the people who actually work at the restaurants really think of those who stack up dishes before we get up and leave.
