I don't know about you but I am and have always been very aware of my surroundings when I am parked in any parking lot. Mall, grocery store, theater, it does not matter, there is too much going on these days not to. So I'm not trying to scare you, only warn you that there is a new scam that has already hit the West Coast and could only be a matter of time before it makes its way to West Texas.

WHAT IS THE NEW SCAM AND HOW CAN IT AFFECT YOU?

Thieves apparently have now taken to leaving a note on the windshield of your car with a message that states that 'they do not want to steal from you and are tired of stealing but have bills to pay and desperately need money.'

During the holidays, some folks get desperate. Unfortunately, it is at the expense of those of us who work hard to afford Christmas just to have some thief try to scam us out of some money. What would you do if you saw that note on your vehicle? On the same piece of paper, the would-be thieves are also leaving their PayPal, CashApp, or a QR code to send Bitcoin. These 'thieves' are insinuating that if you do not pay up, they will be forced to steal from you.

According to KSBW,

multiple cars had the same flyer. Someone also said that car break-ins around the area happen frequently.

One woman said that she works in the area, parks her car in the same spot every day and is afraid the unknown thieves will break into her car if she doesn't send money, so she did send some.

Some may call it a form of extortion, pay up, send money or else!
