One thing people in Texas take very seriously is their love for beer. To some people, beer can provide comfort when going through difficult times, something you turn to for a celebration, or something to pass the time by as you enjoy a relaxing day off.  Despite your reasoning for knocking down a cold one, beer is enjoyed by millions of Texans every single day.

If you're a fan of Lone Star Beer and Lone Star Light, you may have noticed the beer missing from local store shelves in or around Midland-Odessa in recent weeks.  Well, you aren't wrong, there has been a severe shortage of Lone Star beer.  Does this mean that the brand is on the verge of going away completely?  In short, the answer is no.  The self-proclaimed "National Beer of Texas" has recently been missing, but it is not due to the beer going out of business.  Luckily for fans of the brand, all stores will be restocked by the end of March.

So What Happened?

All production of the beer was halted due to changing facilities from Molson Coors brewery in Fort Worth to a Houston facility run by Belgium-based Anheuser Busch InBev.  The transition is to blame for the shortage but the brand has made promises that it will return to store shelves in the coming weeks.

Lone Star and Lone Star Light fans rejoice!

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
