While the cost of living in Texas has risen in previous years, its still noticeably lower than in other areas of the country, the cost of living in California versus Texas is a prime example.

2.) No State Income Tax

Income tax for anyone with a job is unavoidable.  However, Texans get to keep more of their paycheck compared to people who live in other states where income tax can be significantly higher.

3.) Second Amendment-Friendly

One thing that Texans cherish is their love for "pew-pew".  Texas has some of the most relaxed weapon laws in the country.  This may not be admirable for people in other states, however, guns are embedded deep in the state's culture.

4.) Live Music Scene

Texas is well-known for live music.  In fact, Austin has been dubbed by many to be the live music capital of the world.  However other cities like Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio have adapted their own contribution to live music culture.

5. Booming Job Market

Over the past few years alone, many companies have moved their operations to Texas; taking advantage of the low cost of living, taxes, etc.  This makes for more high-paying jobs across the board.
