Recently I did an article on the top vehicles that are being stolen the most so far in 2023. You can check out that article here. I hate that this is the case and that I even had to write it but I definitely want to get the word out so 1) we can exercise caution as to where we park at any mall, grocery store, movie theater, etc., and 2) remember always to lock your vehicle when you do go inside of an establishment and especially at night at home in your driveway.

Unfortunately for relentless thieves, both of those things most of the time do not even matter, if they're up to no good, they will take your belongings in broad daylight! This was exactly the case for 2 West Texans recently.

THIEVES ARE AFTER THESE 2 THINGS RIGHT NOW:

I came across a Facebook post recently that someone I knew had their catalytic converter stolen from their Cadillac when they had it parked in a hotel parking lot.

Why? Just why? This is horrific for anyone! I did some digging. This is why they are being stolen. According to Carfax,

Catalytic converter theft has been a serious threat to car owners for years, as many as 153,000 were stolen in the U.S. in 2022 alone.

WHY ARE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS BEING STOLEN?

Thieves can make anywhere from $25 to $300 for a standard catalytic converter, with those from hybrid cars making up to $1,500 for thieves.

WHAT ELSE ARE THIEVES STEALING RIGHT NOW?

Another heartbreaking Facebook post, an extremely popular vehicle amongst young people, I only say that because my own teen asked for one, was stolen recently. A Dodge Challenger Hellcat. If you've never seen one, wowza, sweet-looking ride, stunning!

Now picture you own one and head to your favorite restaurant, you find an ideal parking spot, directly in front of the restaurant, and in broad daylight, it gets stolen!

UN-BE-LIEVABLE! Hard-working people, have this happen to them so senselessly. I wanted to put a warning out to West Texans to be extremely cautious this summer, well anytime to be honest.
