Living in West Texas, I never hold my breath for a white Christmas. I don't think I have ever experienced a white Christmas at home unless it happened while I was a teeny tiny baby and I don't remember.

REMEMBERING THE GOOD TIMES

I love living in the part of Texas that rarely gets snow, but I do have some vivid memories of noteworthy snowfall. When I was around 10 years old, I remember it snowing so much that the snow piled up higher than my knees. Of course, I was smaller back then, but to be honest, I'm not much taller now than I was at that age. The main reason I remember this specific snowfall is because it happened in April!

THE UNPREDICTABLE WEATHER IN TEXAS

The chances of having a white Christmas in Texas are slim. There is a 1 to 10 percent chance the Lone Star State will get snow on the holiday.

If Texas does get snow it usually is a surprise. The weather is so unpredictable and changes so often that most of us didn't truly believe the warnings of the Snowmageddon of 2021. Most of the time when forecasters predict rain or snow we only get a pinch of moisture that isn't even enough to note.

FINDING A WHITE CHRISTMAS IN TEXAS

If you want a better chance of having a snowy Christmas, you should head to the Panhandle. Here is a list of cities that receive 9 inches or more of snow each year.
