Yeah, this city was founded 141 years ago!  Whoa, that's definitely way back This city was established in June 1881 as a station, on the Texas and Pacific Railway.

#2 CLUE • CATTLE WAS BIG WHEN IT WAS FIRST FORMED!

According to Wiki,   by 1890, it had become one of the state's most important cattle shipping centers. The city was incorporated in 1906!

#3 CLUE • IN 1923 THE DISCOVERY OF THIS CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR THIS CITY! 

Yeah, this city was first important as a Cattle shipping center, but the discovery of OIL soon changed everything for this city!  It was changed significantly by the discovery of oil in  1923 when the Santa Rita No. 1 well began producing!

Photograph of a busy street scene in Midland, Texas. There is a crowd of people and wagons in the middle of the street. The photograph was taken on Christmas Day. Back of photograph: "A Midland far different from the one seen among will celebrate Christmas Monday. This picture was made at Midland on Christmas Day in 1892. It has been preserved by Lum Daugherty who sent it to the Pioneer Editor of the Star-Telegram."
