Whether the 'SNL' shakeups of season 40 have truly come to a close or not, this Saturday will see 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and 'Parks and Recreation' star Chris Pratt kicking off the premiere in Star-Lord style. Feast your faces on seven-full minutes of promo goodness, as Chris Pratt takes the 'SNL' stage for the first time!

Early reports on 'SNL' season 40's inaugural three hosts pegged 'Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt and comedian Sarah Silverman, though it seems reports of series alum Bill Murray were only half-right. 'SNL' has indeed tapped a legendary departed cast member for its third season 40 host, that of more recent alumni Bill Hader!

Well this is where we got that little phrase from. lol Molly Shannon, (a.k.a. Sally O'Malley) who coincidentally today IS the big 5-0!

We'd known that 'SNL' would need some additional fine-tuning after shedding some of the dead weight of season 39, but where writer Colin Jost had replaced "Weekend Update"s departed Seth Meyers alongside Cecily Strong, an unexpected shakeup has emerged. When Andy Samberg was a cast member on 'SNL,' he routinely set the internet on fire with his digital shorts, but none were as popular as his Lonely Island music videos, which saw him, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone performing hip-hop music that often sounded like the real thing. Not only will Charlize Theron return for her second time on the 'SNL' stage, but distinguished alum and 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' host Andy Samberg will return to make his hosting debut for the finale!

It really doesn't feel like 'SNL' unless there's a commercial parody video, which have been the show's bread and butter for decades. Last night's episode had the first memorable fake ad in awhile, offering a look at the thankfully fictional CNN pregnancy test.

What begins as a fairly typical 'SNL' sketch soon transforms into one of darker sketches the show has put on in recent memory, exploring the dissolution of a marriage thanks to dog food choices. Guest host Seth Rogen and regular cast member Cecily Strong bring their finest comedic chops to the scene, wringing every possible ounce of discomfort out of every moment.

Last night's 'SNL' had a digital short that had it all. Two characters speaking in a fictional language while wearing Halloween masks. Guest host Seth Rogen being racist against monsters. A surprise celebrity cameo. Children being scared. A minor rant about the inaccuracies of 'Monsters, Inc.' We're not sure what everyone was eating before they wrote this Monster Pals sketch, but they should order

Pharrell sure did have a busy weekend! In addition to celebrating his 41st birthday in style with SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends from Bikini Bottom, Pharrell also appeared on 'Saturday Night Live' last night as the musical guest alongside guest host Anna Kendrick.
