When Beats headphones first came out, I would occasionally see someone driving down the road wearing them and wonder if they would ever get 'busted' doing so and be ticketed. Same when AirPods became a thing and they were literally attached to people's ears. Well, contrary to what some think, it is actually not illegal. Texas statutes that apply to the road do not specifically outlaw wearing headphones while you are operating a car according to FVFlawfirm.

THREE THINGS YOU MAY THINK ARE ILLEGAL lN TEXAS BUT ARE NOT:

1. DWD-Driving while drowsy. Perhaps you didn't get enough sleep the night before, either you binged an entire Netflix series or TikTok was just too good not to scroll all night and you only got a couple of hours of sleep but still have to drive to work the next morning. According to an article in Reader's Digest,

One-third of all motor vehicle accidents are caused by over-tired drivers.

This is scary considering we have all done it at least once in our lives but it is not illegal to drive a car while drowsy.

2. Marrying your stepbrother or step-sister. So as not to get confused step-siblings are related only if their parents marry, while half-siblings do have one biological parent in common. It may be frowned upon within the family, but if you choose to marry your step-sibling, there is no Texas law that prohibits it.

3. Driving naked. Some people enjoy leaving the windows rolled down and letting the wind blow through their hair and others well they prefer driving in their birthday suits. Are these types of people breaking the law? No. It's totally legal. HOWEVER, according to this article in Reader's Digest,

getting in and out of the car could cause you legal problems. If someone sees you (and complains), you could be prosecuted for public lewdness.
