Snoop Dogg Under Fire For Inauguration Performance
Being a rapper and a performer is tough. The constant spotlight on your life is enough to make anyone who plans for longevity in their career to constantly reinvent themself. Practically no one in the industry has done this more than Calvin "Snoop Dogg" Broadus- who has been a famous rapper since the year 1992.

Over the years Snoop has been called by some to be a marketing genius. He has led the way in all kinds of avenues that has kept him well-paid and relevant. He even paved the way as one of the first rappers to crossover into the pop genre by releasing music with pop stars such as Katy Perry.
Beyond his accolades, Snoop has never been coy when it comes to his opinion. Openly and sometimes proudly running his mouth about his cheers and jeers.
Back in 2017, Snoop made a post on social media chastizing any performer who was willing to perform at Donald Trumps presidential inauguration. The rant even went as far as name-calling such as "Uncle Tom" and threatening to call out and make fun of whomever decided to perform.
Meanwhile, just a few short years later in 2025, he has been under fire for performing at a recent crypto event in celebration of Trumps inauguration. A move that has set social media ablaze- and people were exceedingly quick to call him out for it.
Snoop appeared to have been met with relentless ridicule from people on both sides of the political spectrum. Fans and colleagues who fall on the left were saying things like he is a sell-out and two-faced to name a few. All while many people on the right disagreed on the decision for him to perform due to a controversial music video he made several years ago where Snoop allegedly conducted a mock assassination of a character that was clearly supposed to be Donald Trump.
Regardless, the reasoning for the backlash would have likely been much less if he hadn't been so vocal about it in the past. Snoop is a grown man who can certainly change his opinion. However, the Internet is forever. There will never be a shortage of people who disagree with or call you out for past mistakes or transgressions.
Snoop appears to be learning this the hard way.
