Smokepurpp and Lil Pump Bring Out XXXTentacion’s Mother for “Sad!” Tribute at Miami Show
During Saturday's (July 28) performance at the Lit Up Music Festival in Miami, Smokepurpp and Lil Pump found a special way to honor the late XXXTentacion. While performing X's "Sad!" the duo brought out the rapper's mother, Cleopatra Bernard.
"We got X's mom in the building," Lil Pump can be heard yelling at the crowd before walking Cleopatra to the front of the stage. As "Sad!" continues to play, the late artist's mom makes an "X" symbol with her arms and shares a hug with Purpp and Pump.
"Rest in peace, Jahseh, we fucking love you," the "Gucci Gang" rhymer said. "Rest in peace X, we love you, man," Smokepurpp added.
Purpp and Pump have been doing a lot together recently, as the two 2018 XXL Freshmen recently sat down for a roundtable discussion. During the interview, Purpp argued that he and Pump, along with fellow Freshman BlocBoy JB, changed hip-hop. The "Esskeetit" rapper agreed, saying they "changed the whole rap game."
In news related to X's murder case, a third suspect was recently captured by law enforcement. On July 25, 22-year-old Robert Allen was arrested in Eastman, Ga. by the Marshals Fugitive Task Force after authorities received a tip. Allen was held in Dodge County Jail before being extradited to Broward County, Fla. to face his charges.
