See What Happened When I Attempted To Make Concha French Toast?
Yes, of course I grew up eating CONCHA bread! It was always in my house as a sweet or desert item. I had more CONCHAS than donuts in my house. Loved them and still do. CONCHA bread always reminds me of my mom and grandma! But, in all those years I never had Concha French Toast. Until the other day. I saw it pop up in my newsfeed and the Concha bread caught my attention. So, I attempted to make it and here's what happened.
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE CONCHA FRECH TOAST
You obviously need Concha bread, Milk, Eggs, Cinnamon and Powered Sugar. Oh and some Syrup!
MIX THE EGGS, MILK AND CINNAMON IN A BOWL
How many eggs and milk depends on how many Concha French Toast your going to make.
CUT THE CONCHA BREAD IN SLICES AND DUNK INTO THE EGG MIXTURE
Important, do not DRENCH the Concha Bread in the Egg Mixture. You don't want it SOGGY, just a good glaze over each side.
NOW, IT'S TIME TO BUTTER YOUR PAN AND COOK THE CONCHA SLICES
Cook each side until a nice golden brown!
READY TO SERVE WITH POWERED SUGAR AND SYRUP!
Sprinkle some powered sugar on, if you like powered sugar , if not, no biggie. And, of course your favorite syrup. You can add fruit, whip cream or even jelly if you want.
SO, HOW WAS IT?
It was really good! There is definitely a difference than regular French Toast. Much more thick and a little more sweet. Great with a cold glass of milk! And, If I can make it, anyone can make it. LOL And, if it's not your liking, no biggie, just eat a regular CONCHA the old fashion way!
