Scotty ATL and Cool Club Team Up in “45!” Video
Michael Jordan may have retired from the NBA 14 years ago, but his on-court exploits and ferocious competitive spirit continues to inspire. That much is evident by both the numerous rap references to his name and Scotty ATL's video for the Cool Club-assisted track, "45!"
The Mark Lee-directed video finds Scotty and the Cool Club—his clique consisting of Jay Dot Rain, Kissie Lee and Jake Lambo—recounting their come up from kids to rap stars. If you didn't know, 45 is the number MJ wore shortly after his second retirement.
The "45!" video begins with a shot of what's presumably Scotty and the Cool Club watching Michael Jordan play basketball in his 45 jersey. From there, we're given glimpses of different parts of each rapper's come-up, from time in the studio to the basketball court to the studio to work in an auto shop.
Featuring that famous piano sample of Lonnie Liston Smith's "A Garden of Peace"—the one JAY-Z used for "Dead Presidents"—each rapper floats over the icy Dj Iceberg-produced instrumental.
"45!" is a cut from Scotty ATL and Cool Club's recently released project, Cool Club Millionaires. Check out the "45!" video below. When you're done with that, listen to Scotty's IAMSU!-assisted track, "King Kong."
