Do you think your art is good enough to be displayed in an art Gallery?

I have noticed the art scene has been on the rise here in the Permian Basin. So many pop-up art events have been hitting the streets locally, and I am loving it.

Art presence is important in cities. It shows the diversity of cultures in towns and the true beauty the community has created. Art sparks, curiosity, thought, and inspiration.

Odessa's Community Art Gallery

The City of Odessa and Odessa Arts are accepting submissions for the Community Art Gallery.

The Community Art Gallery is an exhibition that will showcase local artists inside Odessa City Hall. The program was approved in 2018 by the Odessa City Council and was originally called the Cultural Arts Program Exhibition Series.

Art that is picked for the program will be displayed on the 5th floor of City Hall where city leaders meet. This will allow elected officials and the public to see the art pieces on display.

The program's goal is to highlight how creative the community is while also keeping costs low.

How to Submit an Art Piece

If you have too many works of art to choose from, don't worry. Artists are allowed to submit more than one piece. Any artwork selected will be showcased for a year-long loan period. After the year the city will have the option to buy the piece using hotel/motel tax money.

If you are an artist or know a local artist, submissions will be accepted through March 15, 2025, at https://odessaarts.submittable.com/submit.

Beautiful Welded Junk Art

Is that just a rusty pile of old metal junk?
Maybe it's a moose a cowboy or a horse.

It just depends on what you see when you look at it.

This Wyoming-born artist brings junk to live with beauty in motion.
