The Permian Basin Celebrates National Rubber Ducky Day
Did you know that January 13th has been designated as "National Rubber Ducky Day"? The toy itself has been around since the late 1800s and was originally made from vulcanized rubber. While the rubber duck has been around for well over 100 years, it wasn't until "Ernie" from the popular TV show Sesame Street in the late 20th century that inspired National Rubber Ducky Day.

January 13th is a fun and unique way to pay homage to such an iconic part of American culture. However, it also plays a significance for Jeep owners. If you or anyone you know owns a Jeep, you may be familiar with what has been known as "Ducking". Ducking also known as "Duck Duck Jeep" started in 2020 when Allison Parliament started an entire movement by filming herself placing a rubber duck on a Jeep Wrangler she came across in a random parking lot.
Since then the craze has spread worldwide. A trend that continues to thrive despite Ms. Parliament passing away in 2024.
B93 is no stranger when it comes to "ducking". This is due to the fact that our very own station vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler.
We are currently celebrating National Rubber Ducky Day by passing around our custom B93 rubber ducks! So if you happen to see a custom B93 rubber duck on your jeep around the Permian Basin, snap a photo or a video of it. Also, don't forget to tag us. We'd love to see it.
