Discovering Bug Bite Thing: A Modern Approach To Mosquito Remedies

Growing up, anytime any one of us kids (I have 3 older siblings) would get bit by mosquitoes, my mom would put some rubbing alcohol on it. To this day, I'm not sure what it was supposed to do. Did it stop the itch? Did it make the redness go away? Was it supposed to be a mosquito repellent? I'm not sure if it was any of those, or if it was reverse psychology by my momma so that we would stop scratching.

Either way, it worked. We would go back outside and play until sundown with no more complaints of mosquito bites! Cut to today, they have everything under the sun to take care of mosquitoes...in one cabinet alone at home I have OFF, Repel, deep woods and even bracelets/anklets that my kids can wear to keep the bugs at bay.

Well as luck would have it on a recent rerun episode of Shark Tank, I saw something new that I had never heard of before. It is literally called Bug Bite Thing. It caught my attention #1 because mosquitoes love me and #2 because of the name. Pretty catchy! I'll try almost anything during the summer months if it will keep mosquitoes from eating me up.

I found it at Academy the other day but I didn't buy it. I hadn't read reviews (I am that girl) and I wanted to ask around to see if anyone else has tried it first? It says it is supposed to 'suction out insect saliva/venom from under the skin and helps alleviate itching and swelling.' How? It looks like just a little piece of plastic to me!
