Every Wednesday we feature a different pet that needs a new forever home here in the Basin from Lonestar Sanctuary For Animals. Sometimes it's a dog, sometimes it's a cat. They haven't had any guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, or snakes---yet. But you never know!

Meet Andy!

Andy is a 14 week old Lab/Pit mix male puppy.  He and his seven siblings came to the Sanctuary half frozen to death.  Staff rushed them to the emergency vet where they were treated and warmed.  Once back at the Sanctuary they were given warm blankets and beds.  Staff then began the process of socialization!  They were handled frequently and got lots of playtime out in the yard once fully vaccinated!  Andy has a lot of spirit and is a very confident boy!  He loves people and tough chew toys.  Andy loves other dogs and would make a good companion for any potential adopter.  His special requirements are he must go to a home with a fenced-in yard. No apartments.  If renting, His potential adopter would need to provide proof that they are allowed to own a bully breed.  Andy is a little under twenty pounds now but will be a big boy when he is fully grown and weigh anywhere between 55-60 pounds.  If you're looking for a sweet puppy with lots of energy and a real love for life, come see Andy today!

Once home, remember the rule of three: three days to decompress, three weeks to get used to your routine and home, and three months to feel completely at home.
