What You Need To Know About The Organic Carrot Recall In Texas

There has been a recall of baby carrots in the Lone Star State. 39 people across the United States were affected by the contamination. One Person has passed, and 15 were hospitalized after an E. coli outbreak connected to contaminated organic carrots. So Far only one person has been affected in Texas.

On November 16th Grimmway Farms recalled several sizes and brands of baby and whole organic carrots. The contaminated carrots are most likely not in stores anymore but were sold at grocers including Walmart, Target, Trader Joe's Kroger, and Albertsons in Texas. The products were most likely sold from August 14th to October 23rd.

WHAT TO DO WITH RECALLED CARROTS

If you have any carrots that are part of the recall the FDA asks you to throw them away or return them to the store you bought them from. They also encourage you to wash any surface the carrots come into contact with. They recommend you use hot soapy water or a dishwasher.
