Back in March, Lil Wayne said that he had aspirations of becoming a big advertising star, saying of his two Super Bowl spots, "I approached it like I want to do this [appear in ads] more." It may be safe to say though that American Express won't be drawing up a sponsorship deal anytime soon as the bank has filed a lawsuit against the rapper for failing to pay an overdue bill, TMZ reports.

According to documents obtained by the site, Weezy is six months late on an AMEX bill totaling $86,396.75. The company is suing for the full amount of the bill, which dates back to December 2015, as well as legal fees incurred.

This lawsuit comes nine months after Wayne was ordered to pay a private jet company $2 million for unpaid utility bills and seven months after his former lawyer sued him for $375,239 in legal fees. All of this is happening at the same time that Wayne himself is suing Cash Money for $51 million.

In more recent Lil Wayne news, the Young Money rapper recently announced that the 2016 Lil Weezyana Fest will take place on Aug. 27 at Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans and will feature Wayne and 2 Chainz, who released their collaborative album ColleGrove in March, as headliners. Special guests are promised as well, with last year's event featuring performances by Drake, Curren$y, August Alsina and Master P.
