Rick Ross is apparently making an attempt to dead one of the longer-running beefs in recent rap history.

On Tuesday (July 23), Rozay hopped on his Instagram story and hinted that Lil Wayne and Pusha-T may appear together on his upcoming installment of "Maybach Music VI." If all goes according to plan, the song, which may or may not have include verses from Weezy and Pusha as of now, will appear on his new album Port of Miami 2. The Miami rapper explains that he contacted Wayne and Pusha separately to get their verses. Even though there's a chance it won't end up on his new LP, Ross believes he can help both veteran MCs make amends.

“Last night I got to play a few joints for a few people and to me, one of the most meaningful records is ‘Maybach Music VI,’” Rick Ross said on his Instagram story. “I wanted to make this shit special in a different way. Causing some great niggas to put what I consider some bullshit behind them. There’s a difference between having differences with niggas and wishing death upon niggas. We know what this is. To me these some dope ass niggas that play football and scored some touchdowns and bumped into each other in the locker room after the game… I wanted this to spark their conversation of putting all that shit behind them because these niggas is legends.”

The tension between Lil Wayne and Pusha-T stretches back at least to 2006. Around that time, Pusha's brother and fellow Clipse rapper, No Malice, allegedly fired shots at Weezy for rocking Bape like Clipse on "Mr. Me Too." Years later, in 2012, Pusha appeared to address Weezy and his protege, Drake's label situations on his song "23:1."

After the perceived sub, Wayne dropped his diss track "Goulish" aimed at Pusha in 2012. In 2018, the beef popped back up into discussion when Drake and Pusha began trading diss tracks of their own. Wayne and the G.O.O.D. Music president haven't been on a song together since The Game's major remix of his 2006 hit "It's Okay (One Blood)," but that might change thanks to Ross.

“I would love to see my niggas shine again, together… And like I said, it may not happen on ‘Maybach Music VI,’ but I love my niggas anyway and it ain’t about that, it’s just about them niggas being great, living life, moving on," Ross said in another part of his Instagram story.
