Lil Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, took to Instagram Thursday (Oct. 18) to announce details regarding her son’s posthumous album, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 2. In addition to revealing it will drop on Nov. 9, the music video for the previously unheard song “Cry Alone” was also released.

The visual, which was shot in May 2017, features low-grade footage of Peep hanging out in his hotel room and walking around the dimly lit streets of Berkeley, Calif., which pairs well with the somber, IIVI and Smokeasac-produced track. According to the director, Max Beck, the video shoot came together spontaneously after the rapper aimlessly tweeted a request to get McDonald's after one of his shows.

“It was around 1AM when I saw Peep on Twitter asking if someone could bring him McDonalds in Berkeley,” Beck shared in a statement on YouTube. “I texted him asking what he was doing in town (I was living in the Bay Area at the time) and he told me he'd just finished his show in SF, but that I should come to his hotel and maybe take some photos if I was down.”

The director goes on to reveal how they had made plans about shooting various music videos in the past but nothing had previously aligned or worked out. As such, Beck asked if they could film during that unplanned, last-minute get together and Peep happily obliged.

“He said it was perfect timing cause he'd just recorded a bunch of new music and that we'd pick a song when I got there,” he recalled. “After listening to a few different songs and discussing ideas we chose Cry Alone. ‘It just feels right,’ he said. ‘It's the only song that fits the energy of the night.’”

Fans have been anticipating the new album since plans to release it were revealed at his memorial service last year. Lil Peep passed away of a drug overdose last November at the age of 21.
