Tejano band La Mafia has canceled this Saturday's performance in Atlanta, Georgia due to the attack on lead singer Oscar De La Rosa.

According to the band, Oscar is back home recovering from his injuries he suffered early Monday morning. A TV news station reports that Oscar and his driver were leaving the night club "Blur Bar" in Montrose when a fan had requested a picture with him. After being turned down, he saw De La Rosa leaving and rushed him and his Oscar's driver.

The 53-year-old De La Rosa suffered several facial injuries and needed stitches under his eye, nose and upper lip. ABC News reports an eye specialist says his vision in one eye could be limited.

The man who attacked him is said to have been identified and charges are expected. No word on whether he has been arrested as of this posting.

You may remember La Mafia performed in Odessa recently at the Tejano Super Car Show. The band has frequently performed in West Texas over the years.
