Is This Stunning Blue Lake The Most Unique Lake In Texas?

Texas is home to many awesome lakes. They say there are about 7,000 lakes in the Lone Star State! Whoa! Yep, that's a lot of lakes. But even though there are thousands in Texas, none of those lakes are like this one. In fact, they call this lake the 'Blue Hole' and yes, it may be the MOST unique lake in Texas if not the United States!

• THE BLUE HOLE IN ZAVALA, TEXAS

Yes, this lake is located in East Texas in Zavala, Texas which is about 30 minutes southeast of Lufkin, Texas. It looks like something out of a movie. You might think you're watching a scene from AVATAR! The lake goes back to 1920 when miners used this once-sandstone quarry to grab sandstone. With one of their blast, they unleashed an underground spring and thus the unique COLOR and look of what people call the 'Blue Hole'.

• THE BLUE HOLE WAS ONCE FOR SALE

The 'BLUE HOLE ' was actually listed on several realtor sites, but eventually, it was pulled off and NOT FOR SALE to the public.

• THE BLUE HOLE IS PRIVATE PROPERTY AND NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

The Historic beautiful site in Texas is one of a kind and because it is on private property it is NOT OPEN to the public. Back in the 1920's it was used by the public but those days are gone. It has been renovated privately but, still remains private property and is just available to see by drone.  That doesn't stop it from being one of the most beautiful LAKES in Texas with its naturally unique BLUE color.
