Futuristic? Next Level? It might be too early to know, but Texas's favorite grocery store H-E-B is betting on the future and the future is now. "Fast Scan" is here at H-E-B. It's the newest way to check out at the grocery store. It is currently being tested. Would you like this 'new' process?

It's the first H-E-B to use the technology to help you check out your groceries faster. This San Antonio area H-E-B uses the 'weight' technology to help you get out quickly with your groceries. Here's how it works!

STEP #1 • FIRST SCAN YOUR SHOPPING CART WITH A WAND

STEP #2 • SCAN YOUR ITEMS AS YOU SHOP

STEP #3 • PLACE CART ON SCALE AT CHECK OUT

STEP #4 • SCAN THE BAR CODE AT CHECK OUT AND PAY

If the weight and everything match it then allows you to pay and bag your items!

It reminds me of the Scan and Go app for Sam's Club. Basically, you scan your items and pay for them when you leave. The only difference is that this H-E-B process allows you to use the scale to confirm your groceries rather than have someone check your cart and receipt at the door. That could be a PLUS!!!

What do you think? Would you use this Fast Scan or do you prefer the old way of Self Check out or someone checking it out for you? It is currently in the 'testing' phase according to the tik toker, but you never know if and when it will pop up at your H-E-B! ??
