Check out this stat. 1 in 5 people check their cell phones every 10 minutes. As crazy as this sounds I have to say I'm not surprised and I do believe I am one of these people. Think about how many people you know who should have their phones surgically attached to their hands!

These are the people that you try to have a conversation with in the office, at lunch, dinner or wherever and they (or we) are constantly checking our phones. I can say speaking from experience, there is no particular reason for this. I'm very rarely expecting a really important phone call or text. It's not a work phone nor do I respond to half the people that text or call, promptly. I guess it's just a psychological thing? The idea that you just do not want to miss a call or text. Could it be an addiction? I think in my case, I'm always worried I will miss an important call from my kids. What do you think? If you are the '1 in 5' what would be your reason for constantly checking your phone?
