Waterfalls in Texas? Yes, why not! It's not the first thing you think of when thinking of TEXAS, but that's why it's even better when you find them. A waterfall in Texas definitely stands out. So, where are the waterfalls and which ones are closest to us here in West Texas? Well, you might have to drive a bit, but here are some that are less than a half day away.
#1 •. SILVER FALLS REST AREA - CROSBYTON, TEXAS
Location: Silver Falls Park, 221 W Main St, Crosbyton, TX 79322
Silver Falls is described as a 'roadside' Texas stop with restrooms, a visitor information center, and shaded picnic tables. There is a main 'waterfall' area but it is a rest stop.
#2 • HAMILTON POOL RESERVE -DRIPPING SPRINGS, TEXAS
This waterfall is the Hamilton Pool Waterfall. It's about an hour from Austin. Reservations are required to visit.

The waterfall never completely dries up, but in dry times it does slow to a trickle. However, the pool's water level stays pretty constant, even during periods of drought.

The hike to see Gorman Falls requires a three-mile round trip. Much of the terrain leading to the falls is rocky and without shade, and the trail can be slippery and muddy after a rain. The 70-foot-tall spectacle known as Gorman Falls, however, is well worth the effort.
