Discover The Best BBQ In Texas: 3 Texas Favorites!
IYKYK-Barbecue is HUGE in Texas. Like if you don't eat it once a week are you even a Texan? I don't know how many times I have tried to decide with my family, what are we going to eat for such and such meal? At the very least, once a week, someone will say, 'mmm, brisket sounds good!' And there we go, off to find some barbecue. However, it has to be said, you have to travel for some really good barbecue here in Texas.
One that we hit up quite regularly is just right up the road, North of Midland/Odessa, in Wolfforth, Texas. If you've never been, you are missing out! We have told friends and family all about this place and because it is not so far away, they have tried it and are never disappointed. Evie Mae's BBQ in Wolfforth.
I will say that if you are going to attempt to get you some Evie Mae's on a Saturday, you better arrive early because they have a tendency to run out of everything early. Like by 2 or 3 pm. Best to eat an early lunch around 11 or so to be sure you will get to try a little bit of everything.
Cooper's Old Time Pit BBQ in Llano, Texas. Surely everyone has had them some Cooper's right? You walk in and immediately are overtaken by the wonderful smell of brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken, turkey and all the fixins'! By the time I go through the line, it looks as if I'm eating for 4 instead of just myself. lol Cooper's is always a must when I'm heading to Austin for the weekend!
Black's Barbecue in San Marcos, TX. We are also regular's here. I'm either doing a barbecue sandwich and chips or I'm going all out. There is no in-between. The brisket, turkey, sausage and peach cobbler are all personal faves but you really can't go wrong with Black's. Our family is also a fan of the sweet tea. My mouth is watering just typing this right now! Where is your favorite place to tear up some barbecue in Texas?
