If someone were to ask you if you believe Midland or Odessa are both cities that are safe to drive in what would your answer be? Ponder that for a moment while I give you mine. NOPE. That would be my short answer, the reason? So much traffic and work trucks flying down the road like I would expect a NASCAR race would be.

Zero regard for other drivers on the road and keep in mind that I have quite the commute where 2 major West Texas roads are frequented by yours truly so trust me when I say I know a thing or two about driving and safety or lack thereof.

So if we are talking about safe cities to drive in where exactly does Midland-Odessa rank? And we are talking in terms of traffic, weather, accidents, etc. Did either make the list of 'safe cities' to drive in according to the annual list that was recently put out? Four cities in Texas made the list but unfortunately, we did NOT make the list.

THE BEST CITIES TO DRIVE IN IN TEXAS:

1. CORPUS CHRISTI is literally the #1 safest city to drive in in Texas according to this annual study.

2. PLANO, TEXAS

3. LAREDO, TEXAS

4. LUBBOCK, TEXAS

Props to our neighbors to the north, way to go Lubbock for making this list. I visit Lubbock often and I would have to agree, there just seems to be an ease to driving in Lubbock. Are people in the Hub City more chill and just go with the flow because I can appreciate that.
