Dallas Cowboys Have a Message For Frustrated Fans About Offseason Moves
If you are like me, you are wondering what the team is going to do about the player losses in the offseason to get us a Super Bowl winning season.
According to The Spun, Cowboys Vice President Stephen Jones commented on the criticism from fans about offseason moves.
“I don’t think you ever win the Super Bowl in the offseason,” Jones said. “I think it’s a full body of work that you put together over time. I think we’ll be a better team and I think we can take the next step.”
Words of wisdom, perhaps, but it doesn't tell us fans how or who they are going to get to replace Randy Gregory, Amari Cooper, La'el Collins, or Cedrick Wilson.
Historically, teams that spend the most money in free agency have ended up at the bottom of the standings.
But the Cowboys have added Dante Fowler and James Washington to the roster so that is a good thing provided they stay healthy and don't decide to be on IR for most of the season as older players sometimes do when switching teams.
The NFL draft is on the horizon, happening next week, and the Cowboys have historically traded their first-round pick to get team-building players, but not this year.
Rumor has it the Cowboys could go after a playmaker like Treylon Burks from Arkansas or Chris Olave from Ohio State with their 24th pick.
We can only cross our fingers and hope that we get more players like Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs only on the offense this draft.
