Texas Traffic Flow: Slow Driving & Citations

Transp Code code_section_545.363 states in Texas....

(a) An operator may not drive so slowly as to impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, except when reduced speed is necessary for safe operation or in compliance with law. There is not a predetermined minimum speed for driving on highways unless it is specifically written somewhere. There are instances when the weather circumstances require that you drive at a slower speed than the posted limit in order to remain safe.

SO IS IT AGAINST THE LAW TO GO TOO SLOW?

It is against the law for an operator to drive so slowly as to impede the regular and reasonable passage of traffic, according to Section 545.363 of the Texas Transportation Code. The only exception to this rule is when a slower pace is required for safe operation or for compliance with the law.
