So unfortunately we learned a few weeks ago that it is time to say goodbye to a longstanding business in Midland, RIP Bed Bath & Beyond. The company filed for bankruptcy, which is not good news for our Midland store as it will be closing its doors by the end of June along with over 350 of its other locations.

Such a large building in such a great location, whatever will it be now? If a new report from CNN is accurate, the answer may surprise you.

WILL BED BATH & BEYOND IN MIDLAND BE REPLACED BY THIS?

According to CNN, large spaces that are former homes to department stores like Sears, Macy's and now Bed Bath & Beyond are now going to become INDOOR PICKLEBALL VENUES.

It is a growing trend and according to CNN Business,

it's already happened in about a dozen places, and it could become a nationwide trend.

Pickleball has become increasingly more popular in the last couple of years, just the other day I watched a couple of Pickleball matches on tv between former tennis greats, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, and Michael Chang.

Even those guys are getting in on the trend and as a former tennis player myself I would be lying if I said I were not down to try my hand at a game or 2.

WILL AN INDOOR PICKLEBALL VENUE SOON BE FILLING THE SPACE THAT BED BATH & BEYOND IS ABOUT TO HAVE AVAILABLE IN MIDLAND?

For now, this is just a national story that is making headlines but seeing as how it is already happening in several cities across the country, it could easily become a widespread trend.
