Hot Toys’ Star Wars Rogue One Death Trooper Specialist Reports for Duty
Oh, you didn't know? Like Hot Toys wasn't going to have new figures from Rogue One to show off during this most revealing of weeks for Star Wars toys. Of course, like The Force Awakens before it, we're being teased with Imperial forces before we're getting a glimpse at the actual Rebel stars of the film.
This week, Hot Toys unveiled the first of what are sure to be numerous Death Trooper figures in its upcoming Star Wars Rogue One line-up. The Specialist comes fully stocked with all the tools he'll need to eliminate the Rebel forces, and has that snazzy new black armor to boot.
Star Wars’ Black Series Convention Exclusives Feature the Light and the Dark Side
Summer is here and that means it's time for convention exclusive items. Both the bastion and the bane of many collectors, convention exclusives present us with collectibles we may otherwise never see at retail with the caveat that they'll be next to impossible to track down if you aren't actually at the show itself. Heck, sometimes you can be at the show in person and still miss out on a sweet limited item. Fortunately, Hasbro's Star Wars Black Series is offering up two exclusives this convention season which should double your odds of acquisition.
Last year, we saw the debut of the First Order Stormtrooper, as San Diego Comic-Con was the first place you could get your hands on any toys from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This year, Hasbro isn't just sticking with the latest film in the franchise, though the Force Awakens will be a part of the plan. A new Kylo Ren Pack, featuring Ben Solo's finely coiffed portrait, will be offered exclusively at Star Wars Celebration Europe. Additionally, the original trilogy will get some love in the form a an Obi-Wan Kenobi pack, which will be offered exclusively at SDCC and Fan Expo Canada.
Clementine Returns One Finger Poorer in Telltale’s The Walking Dead, Season Three
While most of the attention this week will be paid to games with a lot more pomp and circumstance, don't sleep on Telltale Games' upcoming third season of The Walking Dead. Due out later this fall, the story once again follows Clementine, now in her late teens, as she tries to survive the zombie apocalypse in southeast America. While her trademark ponytails and baseball cap return, Clementine won't be exactly the same girl we saw during The Walking Dead, Season Two. She'll be older, wiser, and minus approximately one ring finger.
Telltale delivered the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season just ahead of E3 2016's official start, giving us a glimpse into what awaits for Clementine in the years since we'd last seen her. That, and her new friend, Javier, who appears to have a few secrets of his own.
Telltale’s The Walking Dead Returns for a Third Season This Year
It's been nearly two years since we last spent any time with Clementine in the world of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead, but the fan-favorite pre-teen may be back this year. While Telltale has been busy fleshing out the worlds of Game of Thrones, Minecraft, and exploring other areas of The Walking Dead, many of us have been wondering what will become of Clementine in the wake of The Walking Dead: Season Two's finale. Though we'd always expected Telltale would pick up the story for a third series, having no updates on the matter since 2014 left fans eagerly anticipating any bit of news on the fate of Clementine.
While the Telltale Batman game got all the headlines this past weekend at SXSW Gaming, the company's CEO Kevin Bruner divulged a bit about the third season of the developer's highly-successful Walking Dead series. According to Mashable, the wait to learn what happened to Clementine after the multiple possible endings might not be much longer.
The Complete New ‘Star Wars’ Canon Timeline [Infographic]
Three years ago, Disney bought Lucasfilm and a number of its properties for $4 billion. With that deal came the right to produce new movies, books, comics, games and toys based on the existing Star Wars universe. However, since Lucasfilm had let the universe of Star Wars expand so widely since the conclusion of the original trilogy in 1983, Disney decided it was best to wipe the slate mostly clean. The Mouse House greatly streamlined the Star Wars galaxy, introducing a new and improved canon for a new age.
This new canon would still keep much of what made Star Wars so endearing to a large number of older fans, but it would also open the previously impregnable fortress of the expanded universe for new fans by practically dismissing all of it. In the past three years, Disney has been busy filling the void vacated by the expanded universe. To prepare for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens we've carefully curated a catalog of Star Wars' new history. This is the new Star Wars canon timeline.
