An Open Letter To Speed Demons On 191 Going Into Midland

Look, I get it. We live in a fast-paced world. It is always hurry up and wait. We are all trying to get somewhere and doing the best we can to find the quickest way to get there. But let me tell you right now, with all of the road construction going on in Midland and Odessa, driving through it all makes me nervous. I'm trying to do my best to be a law-abiding citizen with race car drivers flying past me.

OMG! Can't you see the sign says 60? I'm pretty sure most people are doing the regular speed limit, maybe even a tad faster, flying past me and about to run me off the road! How about no? I have a friend who got run off the road in the same situation. Yes, her vehicle sustained damage. Yes, no doubt it was a scary situation.

When you are driving into Midland and have to veer off to the left a bit, keep in mind that it is still 2 lanes. The lanes are a little too narrow for my comfort, but 2 nonetheless. Please slow down and actually go the speed limit at this point, instead of trying to run me off the road like we are playing an intense game of roller derby but in giant trucks and cars.

A big thank you to the men and women working tirelessly and diligently to get all of this completed but also, when is it going to be done completely? Asking for a friend who avoids this area at all costs for fear of ending up in an accident.
