Tyler, The Creator Shares Behind-the-Scenes Instagram Account for ‘Flower Boy’ Album
Tyler, The Creator's 2017 effort Flower Boy is the gift that keeps on giving.
Saturday (July 21) marked the one-year anniversary of the release of Tyler's fourth album, and to commemorate it the rapper shared an archive of behind-the-scenes moments that went into creating the album. The tongue-in-cheek artist revealed that he had discreetly curated the Instagram account, @scumfuckflowerboy, while recording and promoting the album over the course of two years.
The secret Instagram account not only contains never-before-seen footage of the album’s preparation, from recording sessions to artwork reveals, but it also captures intimate moments from Tyler’s life during the construction of Flower Boy, such as the tattoo he got to memorialize it alongside the titles of his three previous albums.
Among other intriguing posts, fans can see the meticulous work that Tyler puts into crafting drums from scratch, as well composing the beats for songs like “Who Dat Boy?” and “Boredom.” Of course, there’s also the requisite humor that seems to always crack him up, as well as cameos from collaborators like ASAP Rocky, Steve Lacy of The Internet, and singer Kali Uchis. He even shares reactions to his viral throwaway cuts like “Okra” and “Rose Tinted Cheeks,” and previews the stop-motion short film which debuted last year via Viceland.
