Been wondering what Idris Elba and Richard Madden have been up to lately? Apparently, stopping a terrorist attack in the action-packed thriller The Take, which is unrelated to Tom Hardy’s British miniseries The Take, or the 2007 movie The Take starring John Leguziamo and Tyrese Gibson. In fact, this The Take was originally titled Bastille Day, but because of the attacks in Nice, France, the film has a new title for its release over here.

The trailer looks fantastic, with some fast-paced action sequences and just enough levity from its two stars to pad it all out. Madden plays an American thief who’s suddenly swept up in a sting orchestrated by the CIA to take down a terrorist. Elba is suitably intense and intimidating — so much so that we wouldn’t be surprised if he turned out to have been a secret agent in real life all along. He and Madden make a great pair, and Madden’s American accent isn’t too bad either (which you can also hear in the History Channel’s Alaska gold rush miniseries Klondike). Elba proves that he doesn’t even need to play James Bond to become an action star, especially when he’s growling out, “I’m reckless and irresponsible.”

Here’s the official synopsis:

Michael Mason (Richard Madden) is an American pickpocket living in Paris who finds himself in the hands of the CIA when he steals a bag that contains more than just a wallet. Sean Briar (Idris Elba), the field agent on the case, soon realizes that Michael is just a pawn in a much bigger game and is also his best asset to uncover a large-scale criminal conspiracy in the heart of the police force.

Going against commands, Briar recruits Michael to help quickly track down the source of the corruption. As a 24hr chase ensues, the unlikely duo discover they are both targets and must rely upon each other in order to take down a common enemy.

The Take hits U.S. theaters November 18.
