Patrick Mahomes Names His Top 5 List of GOAT NFL Quarterbacks
Many in East Texas have followed Patrick Mahomes since his days as a Whitehouse Wildcat. His play was always electrifying at Wildcat Stadium. From there, Mahomes quarterbacked the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubbock. He put up some gaudy numbers in several games during his time in college. Now, the Whitehouse, Texas native is going into his seventh season as the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, bringing home the Lombardi Trophy in two of those seasons. Mahomes has become the new face of the NFL, but that doesn't mean he will include himself in a greatest quarterbacks of all time list just yet.
Patrick Mahomes Talks About His Career So Far
Patrick Mahomes recently sat down with Ben Felderstein of complex.com to discuss his phenomenal NFL career so far, five years as a starter, two Super Bowl wins, two Most Valuable Player trophies, five straight AFC Championship game appearances (all played on his home turf, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium). You would think that with those statistics, Patrick would consider himself one of the greatest to play the position. Nope. Felderstein asked Mahomes who his top five quarterbacks of all time is and he named six.
Yeah, I mean, you got to say Tom’s 1, but if you talk about the legends of the game, Tom, Peyton Manning, obviously Aaron Rogers, Joe Montana, and then it gets down to Dan Marino or John Elway to round off your top five. - Patrick Mahomes when asked about his top five quarterbacks of all time
Patrick Mahomes Top 5 NFL Quarterbacks of All Time is Actually Six
Patrick has certainly made East Texas proud with the way he's handled himself on and off the field. I wouldn't be surprised if Patrick took home another four championships before his playing days are done. And while his rank in the all time greats isn't settled just yet, you can bet after his career is done, he could easily be in the top 10 of greatest quarterbacks of all time.
