Nas gave the fans in attendance at South By Southwest a little some special. The legendary rapper previewed some of his new music during a performance at Mass Appeal's Live at the BBQ showcase last week.

The Illmatic rapper went on Instagram today (March 21) to share a brief clip from the event. The clip sees Nas performing a new song with his Mass Appeal signee Dave East. "Get ready for the new!" Nas wrote on Instagram. It might not be much, but this certainly grabs the attentions of fans as the "Street Dreams" rapper hints at something new dropping in 2016.

This untitled collaboration with Dave East was not the only new music that Nas offered up during his performance at SXSW. The show also saw the debut of a J Dilla track featuring Nas called "The Sickness."

Fans might be a little disappointed that Nas didn't perform his verse, but it was more than welcomed to hear the new J Dilla cut. The video diminishes the quality of the song a bit, but fans can still hear that Madlib cooked up a banger for this J Dilla record. "The Sickness" will presumably appear on the posthumous J Dilla album The Diary, which is scheduled to drop later this year on Mass Appeal Records.

As for Nas' release schedule, the Queens rapper owes one last album to Def Jam before his contract with the label is wrapped up. After that album is released, the Mass Appeal team says that Nas will drop Lost Tapes 2 through their imprint.
