Ok so I will admit, thinking about my teenage son going to college makes me wanna keep him young forever!!! BUT I also know how important it is to start planning so both he and I can be prepared for the big day!

Choosing a college is a big step, not just for students, but for parents, too! That’s when UTEP’s Orange and Blue Day comes into play because it gives prospective students and their families the opportunity to explore everything UTEP has to offer, all in one place!

It’s a chance to walk the campus together, ask questions, learn about different career paths and, hopefully, get your future college student excited about what comes next. Oh, and it’s all for free!!

Orange and Blue Day Lets Families Experience UTEP Together

Families can explore more than 170 degree programs through interactive College Showcases, meet faculty and staff, and talk with current students about life as a Miner. Whether your student already has a major in mind or is still figuring things out, there are plenty of opportunities to discover new interests. You can check out the full schedule here!

You can also tour UTEP’s beautiful 420-acre campus, explore state-of-the-art labs and recreation facilities, and check out on-campus housing. For parents, seeing these spaces can help make the idea of sending your child off to college feel a little less overwhelming. It’s also the perfect chance to ask those questions you might not even know to ask until you’re there!

And, of course, there’s plenty of Miner pride to experience, from the pep band and cheer team to meeting Paydirt Pete and learning about UTEP’s traditions.

Personally, I remember when I was about to enter college myself I was so nervous because my first day of class was also my first day on campus so I had no idea what to expect! I wish I could have gone to an event like this to learn my way around campus!

Orange and Blue Day is a great way to help your teen picture their future while giving parents a little more peace of mind along the way. Register here!
