Experience America's Greatest Expedition

The Science Spectrum's OMNI Theater is now featuring Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West, an epic giant-screen film that follows the legendary Corps of Discovery as they traveled across the vast, largely unmapped American frontier.

Commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson after the Louisiana Purchase, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark led an expedition beginning in 1804 that stretched more than 8,000 miles across rivers, mountains, forests, and plains. Along the way, the group documented new plants and animals, mapped unknown territory, and established relationships with numerous Native American tribes that proved essential to the expedition's survival.\

It's one of those stories many of us learned about in school, but seeing it on the OMNI's massive dome screen is an entirely different experience.

The OMNI Theater Makes You Feel Like You're There

If you've never experienced a film inside the Science Spectrum's OMNI Theater, you're missing one of Lubbock's coolest attractions.

Instead of watching a movie on a regular screen, the giant dome surrounds your field of vision, making you feel like you're traveling alongside Lewis and Clark through towering mountains, rushing rivers, and breathtaking wilderness.

It's the kind of experience kids remember long after summer break ends, and adults usually walk out saying, "I forgot how incredible that story really was!"

Perfect for Families, History Buffs, and Curious Kids

Whether your kids are fascinated by history, you're a longtime fan of American exploration, or you're simply looking for something different to do around town, this film checks all the boxes.

It's entertaining enough to keep younger audiences engaged while offering plenty of fascinating historical details adults will appreciate.

And since your visit is at the Science Spectrum, you can spend the rest of the day exploring hands-on exhibits, the aquarium, interactive science displays, and everything else the museum has to offer.

A Great West Texas Day Trip Without Leaving Town

One of the best things about living in Lubbock is having attractions like the Science Spectrum right here in our own backyard.

So if the West Texas heat has you searching for something fun indoors, consider taking an unforgettable journey across America without ever leaving the 806.
