Ian Moore Headlines Snyder’s Boomtown Beer And Music Festival On October 24th
If you're looking for something to do the weekend before Halloween, you might want to make the drive to Snyder. Especially if you enjoy live music, cold beer and not having to spend a fortune just to get through the gate.

The inaugural Boomtown Beer & Music Festival is coming to historic Downtown Snyder on Saturday, October 24th, 2026, and organizers are putting together a pretty impressive lineup for a first-year event.
We're talking nine musical acts, 12 hours of free live music, craft beer, food vendors and shopping, all happening about 90 miles southeast of Lubbock.
And did I mention the concerts are free?
Because these days, that's practically worth its own headline.
Ian Moore Headlines Boomtown Beer & Music Festival
The biggest name on the bill is Ian Moore, who will perform with his full band.
Moore has a long history in Texas music, originally building his reputation as a blues-rock guitarist before expanding into rock, soul, Americana and other styles.
If you've followed Texas music for a while, you probably remember him from songs like "Muddy Jesus" and "Satisfied."

But he's not the only reason to make the trip.
The festival will also feature SOUTHFM, a name that should sound familiar to fans of the Texas alternative-rock scene.

Nine Artists Performing in Downtown Snyder
Here's the complete announced lineup for Saturday's festival:
- Ian Moore (Full Band) - Headliner
- SOUTHFM
- Cut Throat Finches
- Jordan Tyler Haynes and the Kitchen Choir
- Taylor Ochs Trio
- Terri Knight
- Jonathan Hester
- Jess Goodlett
- Haydn Bartlow of Fallback
Music is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 24th.
That's a full day of live entertainment, with a mixture of established performers and regional artists.
And unlike a lot of music festivals, you won't need to buy a concert ticket just to enjoy the bands.
The Music Is Free, but There's Also a Craft Beer Experience
The festival will feature a ticketed craft beer experience with participating breweries.
So here's the important distinction: Admission to the live music is free, but the craft beer experience requires a ticket.
Organizers are also promising more than 26 vendors, along with food, shopping and family-friendly activities throughout historic Downtown Snyder.
The idea is to bring people into the downtown district, introduce visitors to local businesses and give West Texans a reason to spend the day exploring Snyder.
And with 12 hours of music scheduled, there should be plenty of opportunities to do exactly that.

Friday Night Pre-Party Features Paco Estrada
If one day of music isn't enough, the festival is actually getting started a night early.
A special Friday Night Pre-Party is scheduled for October 23rd, featuring Paco Estrada performing from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Estrada is a Texas singer-songwriter known for his soulful vocals and acoustic-driven rock sound.
The Friday show gives music fans another reason to make an entire weekend out of the trip.
Craft Beer Tickets Include Tastings From Seven Texas Breweries
I found some additional information on the festival's official ticketing page, and it's worth knowing before you go.
The craft beer experience is being offered for $60 per person, and that includes:
- Ten 4-ounce tasting pours
- Samples from seven Texas breweries
- A selection of 21 different craft beers
An earlier $50 early-bird ticket option is listed as sold out.
Tickets are available through the festival's link HERE
There's Also a Smithsonian Connection
Here's something you might not know about the festival.
Boomtown is taking place as part of Snyder's participation in SPARK! Places of Innovation, a Smithsonian traveling exhibition and community programming initiative.
The festival is associated with the program's “Boomtown: Energy Innovation” theme, which highlights Snyder's history in oil, energy, entrepreneurship and the industries that helped shape West Texas.
The festival is one of several community events scheduled alongside the Smithsonian exhibition, giving visitors another reason to explore Snyder beyond the concerts.

What You Need to Know Before Heading to Snyder
The festival takes place in historic Downtown Snyder, centered around the downtown square.
For Lubbock residents, Snyder is roughly 90 miles away, making it a reasonable weekend road trip.
The Snyder Chamber of Commerce is promoting the event, and the Scurry County Area Foundation is listed as the host of the craft beer ticket sales.
For artist updates, individual performance times, parking information and other announcements, check the Boomtown Beer & Music Festival Facebook page, which is linked through the Snyder Chamber of Commerce's official page.
A Pretty Good Excuse to Spend a Saturday in Snyder
Let's recap.
Nine artists. Twelve hours of free live music. More than 26 vendors. Craft beer from seven Texas breweries. A Friday night pre-party. And a chance to spend some money with local West Texas businesses.
That's an ambitious first year for any festival.
Whether you're going specifically to see Ian Moore, catching SOUTHFM or just looking for a fun Saturday outside Lubbock, Boomtown is shaping up to be worth a look.
And considering the concerts won't cost you a dime, you could spend the money you saved on admission buying something from one of those downtown vendors.
