This Nacogdoches Store Just Sold A Winning $50K Texas Lottery Scratch-Off

What a great start to the weekend for a lucky East Texan. Last Friday, August 28, someone in Nacogdoches spent $3 on a Texas Lottery scratch-off game card and won $50,000. That winning ticket was purchased at Nick's Valero convenience store located at 4518 Appleby Sand Road, just outside the loop, near Nacogdoches High School.

This game was introduced into circulation in May 2025. This game costs $3 to play, and it features 14 top prizes of $50,000. The Nacogdoches winning ticket is the 11th jackpot to be claimed, leaving 3 more top prizes in circulation. Texas Loteria still has over 70 second-place tickets in play that feature $3,000 payouts. The name of the $50,000 winner has not been revealed and will probably remain anonymous.

Lufkin Had A $1 Million Scratch-Off Winner Earlier This Year

$50,000 is a huge chunk of change, but back in February, a convenience store in Lufkin sold a winning $1 million scratch-off ticket. The 500X scratch-off game is a $50 ticket with 15 top prizes of $1 million. The Sunoco Kwick Korner Food Mart on S. Timberland Drive in Lufkin sold a winning jackpot ticket. The game will be pulled out of circulation soon, but there are still 2 top prizes that have yet to be claimed.

If you're going to buy a ticket for any of the Texas Lottery draw games, keep up with the results and your ticket. On March 9, a winning ticket matching all numbers for the Texas Two Step was purchased at an H-E-B in Floresville, near San Antonio. No one ever turned in the winning ticket, and this past weekend, the window to claim the money expired. That's $200,000 down the drain.
