2 Chainz is understandably in the spending mood, with his collaborative album ColleGrove with Lil Wayne released last week after months of chatter and teasing. TMZ caught up with the Atlanta rapper outside Avianne Jewelers in New York City's diamond district to talk his obvious affinity for jewelry.

"This is where I get most of my stuff," Chainz says in the above video. "I’ve been dealing with Avianne jewelery... since the 'Duffle Bag Boy' days. They made a bunch of my stuff earlier. I deal with Joe. I’m cool with they dad, mom. She make some great coffee in here so I'ma go get some coffee. This like home for me when I come to New York. I tell people I’m a Virgo, I enjoy long walks in the diamond district."

According to TMZ, owner Joe Avianne said that the rapper dropped a total of $65,000 on a 25 karat black onyx stone ring outlined in diamonds, a 25 karat diamond tennis necklace and an upgraded 30 karat diamond bracelet. In the video, he says that he currently prefers smaller discreet pieces, though those adjectives can mean different things to different people.

2 Chainz has been making the media rounds lately, talking to Wendy Williams about the death of Bankroll Fresh, and appearing on 'The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore' to discuss Ben Carson's decision to suspend his presidential campaign. Notice Chainz wearing the same camo and red outfit in the above video that he did on 'The Nightly Show,' suggesting he stays plenty busy whenever touching down in the Big Apple.
