The Best Steakhouse In Texas Sits In A Small West Texas Town
In case you haven't read any of my eleventy-nine articles, I grew up in a small town outside of El Paso, TX named Fabens. This town is tiny compared to my current city of Midland, Texas.
Growing up in this border town shaped who I am. I learned what hard work is and how to show my value in it. Watching my older cousins work in the fields to earn extra money was a big part of shaping my work ethic. They would go to work for a day picking cotton or gathering pecans. The jobs didn't pay much for a day's work but were a way to get quick cash.
Fabens is a one-of-a-kind small town that still holds many of my family members. I still visit for special occasions and we almost always end up at one specific steakhouse.
THE STEAKHOUSE ON THE CLIFF
With a population of less than 10,000 this tiny Texas town tends to get overlooked but it holds a Texas hidden gem known as Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian Cliff Ranch. Cattleman's has been featured in major blogs, magazines, and TV shows. In most of these features, they have crowned them to have the best steak in Texas. One even said they have the best steak in the United States! The owners chalk it up to quality beef and service. They take pride in hand-selecting their meats to keep the customers coming.
Being a native Fabens Wildcat, major events are celebrated at Cattleman's. Growing up we would stop by for graduations, birthdays, and many more happy events. Hosting a huge party here is not an issue. Plus they have a children's zoo, an Indian maze, a lake walk, a children's playground, buffalo, longhorns, and so much more.
So next time you are on I-10 and realize you are close to El Paso. Take that Fabens exit and enjoy a steak at Cattleman's Steakhouse. You will love the food and the people just as much. Take it from a small-town girl from Fabens Texas!
